Charmaro was born from VAN CHA and from the roads that carried tea beyond its place of origin. Our name joins Char (tea), Ma (horse), and Ro (road), recalling the Ancient Tea Horse Road where leaves, craft, and culture moved through the mountains of China.
For more than two decades, our work has been grounded in China's leading tea regions. Long-standing relationships with heritage gardens and skilled makers give us direct access to harvests and tea wares selected for provenance, clarity, and character.
We taste and assess every selection with care. Origin, cultivar, season, processing, and the final cup all matter. This discipline is less about pursuing perfection than protecting what makes each tea distinct.
Tea is also a way to make time visible. The dry leaf, rising aroma, changing infusions, and quiet between cups turn an ordinary pause into a considered ritual. Through that ritual, distant landscapes and generations of knowledge become present.
Charmaro brings this living culture forward with respect and a contemporary point of view. We invite new drinkers and experienced collectors alike to follow the leaf back to its source, then make the ritual their own.
